Faith Based Leadership: Another Critical and True Aspect About Which to Be Aware!
For this blog, I will share a simple but key insight, and it is a simple thing, but a number of people say this in their communication, but these people are not aware of how this can distort your Neuroscience, Vision and Team Success. I will share a quote that many say when they are talking about God, but you will see people also say this about other people. I will then point out the negative aspects but also what we need to do.
Let me offer the quote and then highlight it because not only in a spiritual sense but also happens sometimes with people about their team or other people. It is a negative assumption that is used. I was listening to a couple of spiritual people quite a while back and one of them said this:
“I know about God!”
Immediately I knew what he was thinking and not good. In my brain I realized that this is not the central truth. As I said in my voice, “it is not about you knowing about God….it is you Knowing God”. This is what many people do not understand. The truth is that…
“I know God”
Our friends, teammates and colleagues:
Realize that when one says that they are assuming that they know everything you will ever decide or say and this is totally incorrect. You must realize that people you are connected to, they may have reacted to something quite some time ago but that does not mean that they will make the same choice in another situation given that their intelligence may realize they may not decide exactly the same thing because unlike you perhaps, they are aware of unexpected differences for the new situation and you may not be aware about that. They may also be aware of how they could have and should have done it just a bit differently.
I ask you: are we truly allowing the Lord we serve to work from within us to make His difference and so that We Know Him, rather than focusing on ourselves? Realize that this is also related to your team. It is amazing how many times I have heard people say this about other people that they know or work with.
It is not just about Knowing About One Member……it is truly about Knowing the One Member!
Questions for Reflection
What must you do to grow and develop this awareness and mindset within yourself so that you can model it for your team?
What do you need to truly enhance and develop in yourself and in your team so that this difference is fully expressed?
