Faith Based Leadership: Key Growth Lesson from “The Waters of Marah”.

As we look at the historical example of the Exodus from Egypt and Pharaoh, a key lesson of leadership is illustrated that often people can miss. There are 2 key aspects to truly breaking free into our destiny.

While Key Aspect #1

One key aspect is fairly obvious.  On our Journey, a key part of it is:

Removing ourselves from that which is holding us back.

This is simply illustrated by Jimmy Evans and it is the Red Sea Aspect.  When the Red Sea divided and Israelite's went through “As if on dry land”.......but after that when the enemy attacked again the waters flooding back and drowned an entire army.

HOWEVER, the 2nd Aspect is a little more insidious but is just as critical for us to understand.

 Key Aspect #2:

The 2nd key aspect is equally critical and is often overlooked.  It is also critical that we:

“REMOVE THAT WHICH IS HOLDING US BACK FROM WITHIN US”.

This is illustrated by the story the Waters of Marah.  The Israelites had travelled in the wilderness for several days and were probably running out of water when they came to the Waters of Marah.  There was no problem however in that, the waters of Marah were very bitter and not good.  In fact the word Marah means “BITTER”.  The nation began accusing Moses and God also for bringing them here.  Within them, their experience in Egypt and all that environment was still within them

However, Scripture and Torah said that God told them to take a tree and throw it into the water.  As soon as they did, the water became sweet.

THEY HAD TO GET THROUGH WHAT WAS WITHIN THEM

THAT WAS HOLDING THEM BACK FROM THEIR DESTINY.

What is the central point of this blog?  Simply this.....it is one thing for you to physically adapt your situation to something better.  HOWEVER, in what ways does the previous situation still exist within you and hold you back?  In many ways, we often make “Inner Vows” and this is a way that the previous situation still drives and controls us even when it should not.

What will it take for you to bring clarity to the ways that this is still within you and break free of what is within you that is holding you back, only when you do this, will you be ready for your destiny.
